This book explores how Augustine and other important Church Fathers of Western and Eastern Christianity perceived the relationship between human freedom of choice and divine grace. It brings together a diversity of perspectives with contributions by experts of Patristic and Reformation theology. Several chapters focus on lesser-studied corpuses while others offer insights into less-known aspects of more familiar figures, each considering what faith, grace, and freedom might mean to early, and early modern, Christians.
