Just as the title suggests, this is a book crammed to the spine with facts about Robots. And not just any old facts. Ones that you probably weren’t aware of before: slime soft robot that can be swallowed, anyone? Sophia, the robot with 62 facial expressions; by 2050 people will be marrying robots, suggests Dr David Levy. I could go on. The speed with which technology is changing is remarkable, and this book succinctly chronologises it all; from what a robot is, to the rise of robots to amazing advances. Even though there is a scary side, I came away from this book feeling positive about the future. I’m sure children in Year 5 upward (age 9+) would find this book fascinating - the pictures are many and varied. The writing is in small manageable chunks and there are lots of great non-fiction writing features to engage with. It also ends with a fun quiz!
