Matthew Bennett is a Senior Lecturer at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and a medieval historian interested in both the ethos and practice of warfare. His publications include an atlas of medieval warfare for Cambridge University Press and a score of articles. His current projects include a volume on medieval warfare for a series on the History of Warfare. Paul Latawski is a Senior Lecturer in Defence and International Affairs at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He is an Associate Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute for Defence Studies, London and an Honorary Visiting Fellow at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies, University of London. His principal research interests include contemporary Poland and security in Central Europe. He has published extensively on these topics.
