Stefania M. Maci is a full professor of Englishlanguage and translation in the Department ofLanguages, Literatures and Communication atthe University of Bergamo. She has completedher PhD in applied linguistics, Lancaster University,UK. She has been the local supervisorand coordinator of local, national and internationalresearch projects (on academic genres).Her research areas include pragmatics, discourseanalysis and genre analysis with a corpuslinguistics approach, with particularregards to specialised (academic, medical andtourism) discourses and their popularization.
