Geostatistical simulations have the potential to be for the mining industry what a wind tunnel is for aircraft design. They allow mining engineers to evaluate the impact of various mining scenarios on the recovery of mineral reserves. This book is written by two expert geostatisticians - Journel is the pioneer of mining geostatistics - and established academics.

The approach is clearly laid out, the book is well written, and for the most part readily accessible...the authors have done the subject a favour by (re)introducing the stochastic simulation as applied to the evaluation of mineral reserves.
