Overall, this is a very worthwhile work. It seems clear that much work went into including the details of names and numbers along with extensive descriptions of works constructed by the combatants and the terrain involved in key events. Even with the level of detail, the book reads well and one does not get a feeling of getting bogged down. I would definitely recommend this to anyone interested in this topic or in colonial operations in this period in general.
