As energy is becoming one of the crucial concerns in the EU, this volume provides an in-depth analysis and interdisciplinary perspective on European energy security. Given the multidimensional nature of energy security in terms of physical availability, affordability and geopolitical security, it brings together authors from different backgrounds pursuing a distinctly multidisciplinary approach. Rossella Bardazzi is currently associate professor of Macroeconomics at the School of Political Sciences “Cesare Alfieri”, Department of Economics and Management of the University of Florence, Italy. Her research is in multisectoral macroeconomic modelling in the areas of indirect taxation, household consumption, and environmental policies. More recently, her research interests lie in microsimulation modelling for enterprises, energy policies and green taxes. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Siena, Italy. Maria Grazia Pazienza is currently associate professor of Public Finance at the School of Political Sciences “Cesare Alfieri”, Department of Economics and Management of the University of Florence, Italy. Her research interests include economic effects of taxation (mainly corporate and environmental taxes), environmental economics and behavioural approaches for designing public policies. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Siena, Italy. Alberto Tonini is associate professor in the Department of Political and Social Science, University of Florence, Italy. His research interests include Energy Diplomacy, European Energy Security, Euro-Mediterranean Politics. Dr. Tonini's articles have been published in The Review of International Affairs, Guerres Mondiales et Conflits Contemporaines, Rivista di Studi Politici Internazionali. Dr. Tonini is currently member of the board of SeSaMO, Italian Society for Middle Eastern Studies, and of the board of ICCT, International Center for Contemporary Turkish Studies. Since 2011 Dr. Tonini serves as president of the Forum for the Problems of Peace and War.
