C.A.E. Luschnig is Associate Professor of Classics at the University of Idaho in Moscow. She is the author of An Introduction to Ancient Greek: A Literary Approach (Scribners, 1976) and Latin and Literacy (American Classical League, 1978).

In sum, this book, while not for the faint-hearted or unmotivated student, has several great merits: it never patronizes the reader; it tries to interest him in the structure of language, it offers a wealth of different exercises, and most of all, it conveys the authors' evident joy in the study of language.
