Ethics and the Environment includes contributions from distinguished philosophers, humanists, politicians, geologists, chemists and physicists. This volume opens with an historical and philosophical background to provide a basis for discussion of significant contemporary changes in ethical theory. Key themes and concepts in the environmental ethics debate are addressed, including property rights, organism and community, and environmentalist values.
