Enniscorthy

Enniscorthy built its proud reputation on the rich agricultural produce of its hinterland. The combination of a unique strawberry crop and a festival have made Enniscorthy synonymous with fun-filled holidays in the South east. Yet the town has a more strident past; at the forefront of Ireland's struggle for independence, it was the scene of the Rebellion of 1798 and the only place outside Dublin to support seriously the 1916 Rising.
