Elsa Beskow (1874-1953) is the most popular children's author--illustrator in Sweden. Often described as Sweden's Beatrix Potter, Elsa Beskow's picture books have been known and loved for over a century. Her charming stories of children and magical folk, accompanied by her signature illustrations, are known and cherished the world over. Elsa's best known books in English include Peter in Blueberry Land, The Children of the Forest and Pelle's New Suit.

'We savoured each story, spreading them over four nights, one for every night. In true Elsa Beskow style, they did not disappoint... This beautiful edition would make a wonderful gift for any child or adult. Ours has taken its place in our library of books and will be read over and over again. Just like all the other Elsa Beskow stories, they'll mesh into my memories of my children's childhood, in the way that treasured books have a way of doing.'-- SlowParentingLife (Instagram)'The illustrations are beautiful, and idyllic, capturing a bygone era of slow living, hand made clothing, farming and gentle village life. While modern picture books are colourful, bright and have very few words on each page, these stories are comparatively lengthy, with more complex words and far more words than illustrations. I found that both children fully relaxed into a snuggly cuddle and really observed each picture, slowly... Classic gems like Peter and Lotta are an antidote to our fast-paced world and a gentle reminder for adults and children to slow down a little, together.'-- WaldorfIntention (Instagram)'Timeless favorites... Sweet and whimsical.' -- Fill Your House With Books (Instagram)
