Ana Sanches Silva has a remarkable track record with more than 300 scientific publications. Her research focuses on the development of innovative packaging technologies, such as active and edible packaging, and the study of packaging migration into food. She has a strong interest in analytical methodologies for detecting bioactive compounds, food contaminants (e.g. plant toxins, mycotoxins, pesticides residues), and packaging migrants. In recent years, she has also explored natural extracts from plants and food by-products. Throughout her distinguished career, Ana has received over 20 research awards, recognizing her outstanding contributions to science. Additionally, Ana has been consistently recognized among the World’s Top 2% of most-cited scientists in the Stanford University ranking since 2021.Farheen Badrealam Khan is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Biological Sciences, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, UAE. She holds a PhD in biotechnology and is a member of the Royal Society of Biology. Her research focuses on investigating the therapeutic potential of bioactive molecules, nanoparticles, and peptides against diverse disease pathologies. She has authored and co-authored numerous publications in international journals and books and has presented her work at various national and international conferences.
