It provides an explanation of what dyslexia is and how it affects a child′s learning, suggests simple activities which can be used to screen children ready for referral and outlines some easy-to-follow activities addressing different learning styles. Currently employed at Liverpool Hope University in teacher training, Wendy has spent the last 20 years gaining qualifications in various aspects of special needs. Having qualified as a specialist tutor she taught privately in schools as well as providing special expertise on teacher training programmes.

This is a very clearly set out book and very easy to navigate. The practical activities and games have been used by my teachers and they found thay were useful asnd relevant in their classrooms. The ideas are clearly linked to the theory so students undersatnd the rationale for their actions. A good resource for my MA Dyslexia: Research and Practice and British Dyslexia Association′s Approved Teacher Status and Approved Practitioner Status awards.
