From the reviews: "This is a review of dual energy CT in clinical practice ... . The editors intend the book for technicians and radiologists. It is well organized and well suited for clinical physicists and research scientists ... . suitable for medical physics graduate students entering the field. ... a welcome addition to the books on CT physics and CT imaging. ... The book should be required reading for clinical physicists and radiologists ... . There is no direct competition for this book ... ." (Terry T. Yoshizumi, Doody's Review Service, June, 2011) "This really is worth reading, particularly as there are several different ways of obtaining dual energy information, each one championed by a different manufacturer. ... the book is devoted to clinical applications, with examples mainly using the dual source technique. ... I learnt a lot from this book and was excited by the possibilities of DECT. For anyone with anorak tendencies or an interest in the future of CT, I would recommend they seek out a copy ... ." (Nicholas Reading, RAD Magazine, August, 2011) "A comprehensive textbook that provides general background of the physical principles of the technology as well as practical advice about clinical applications of dual-energy CT. ... Overall, this well-written and organized book succeeds in summarizing the basic scientific, clinical, and technical aspects of dual-energy CT. It provides the reader with a sufficient and comprehensive physical and technical background. ... a good addition to the bookshelves of an institution that uses dual-energy CT and readers interested in dual-energy CT in general." (J. Matthias Kerl, Radiology, Vol. 261 (2), November, 2011) "This book is entirely devoted to the impact on clinical practice induced by dual energy computed tomography (DECT), describing in full detail the advances in this domain offered by the introduction of the newest machines, more robust hardware and post-processing dedicated software. ... This is an important book which will be of great interest to all those approaching, using and mastering DECT, who will make good use of the extensive practical expertise in the text from all contributing authors."
