Druids on the Silk Road

In this timely volume, Emlyn Phillips discusses a changing Wales on its journey towards independence.Drawing on Welsh and global history, on narratives of global interconnection and interdependence from prehistory to the near future, from the possible fate of Owain Glyndŵr to the revival of Saunders Lewis’s vision of a Welsh civilisational space in a culturally diverse world, this provocative book will engage readers in an imaginative revisioning of what an independent Wales might look like in a world facing climate change and resource depletion – and to consider the inconvenient details of what building this society might involve.Composed of new essays alongside others that have been previously published in Planet: The Welsh Internationalist and Bylines Cymru, Druids on the Silk Road is a stimulating contribution to the conversation about Wales and its future.
