Dragonfly Slayer

Captivating story of several people, all medical professionals, discovering they are interconnected through the bonds formed in a past life. One bond between two psychiatrists is of a romantic nature and spans several incarnations - and further extends into a future reincarnation... A serendipitous encounter between Weylin McLaughlin, an Irish psychiatrist, and Keith Wilson, an oncologist, energy healer and shaman, leads to revelations that shake the foundations of Weylins scientific beliefs and which also bring him in renewed contact with his former illicit lover, Leandra. Weylin is so intrigued by Keiths proposal to be part of a psychiatric study on the effects of the novel psychedelic drug, Jacacia; he sees it as an opportunity not only to advance his professional treatments of mental disorders but as a path toward self-discovery. After Weylin shares his enthusiasm about the offer with his boss, Annette, who readily volunteers to participate in the study in the hope that Keith can cure her newly-diagnosed cancer, Weylin also invites his patient, Ariadne, and his former lover, Leandra, to join as well. Once he and Leandra finally meet alone, Weylin is shocked to learn that after their excruciating break-up, Leandra had resorted to past-life regression therapy, which had uncovered a former iteration of their timeless love story in 17th century Ireland, which ended in his betrayal of her. Under the influence of Jacacia, Weylin is able to relive and recount their love story in the same past life, but his account of events has a very different twist. The Jacacia experiments unveil an interlacing among Weylin, Leandra, Annette and Ariadne, as all four had lived in the same incarnation. In order to expose the much-desired physical evidence of this common bond, Leandra and Weylin, later joined by Ariadne, travel across Ireland where, and with the help of a shaman, they are able to lift a long-standing curse, which had kept the village of their past hidden from the world. They succeed in discovering the spells source, as they delve into understanding the transcendence of Weylin and Leandras love throughout time...
