James L. Cavallaro is the President of the University Network for Human Rights. He is a visiting professor at Amherst, teaches at Wesleyan University and Yale Law School, and has been a professor and director of the human rights clinics at Harvard and Stanford Law Schools. He has been a human rights advocate in the Americas for more than three decades and served as a commissioner on the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (2014-2017) and as its president (2016-2017).Claret Vargas is a Senior Staff Attorney at the Center for Justice and Accountability (CJA), a human rights organization focused on deterring torture, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and other severe human rights abuses through litigation, policy, and transitional justice strategies.
