He is currently holding Dean (Research) position at AMET University, Chennai, India. Earlier he held senior academic positions at VIT University, India, University Malaysia Pahang, Malaysia, Monash University Malaysia, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappali, and PSG College of Technology, India. His area of expertise includes design and analysis of automated manufacturing systems and robotic assembly line systems. He is serving as Associate Editor and as editorial board member for many international journals. He has over 300 articles published in various referred journals and refereed conference proceedings. Professor Ponnambalam has also edited books in the field of manufacturing systems and supply chain.He is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (UK) and a Chartered Engineer registered with the Engineering Council, UK. Paulo Davim is a Full Professor at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, with over 35 years of experience in Mechanical, Materials, and Industrial Engineering. He holds multiple distinguished academic titles, including a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and a DSc from London Metropolitan University. He has published over 300 books and 600 articles, with more than 36,500 citations. He is ranked among the world's top 2% scientists by Stanford University and holds leadership positions in numerous international journals, conferences, and research projects.
