This three-volume catalogue (in four parts) was first published between 1862 and 1871, and offers an overview of early historical sources in public ownership. Volume 3, published in 1871, describes manuscripts documenting events from 1200 (the first full year of King John's reign) to the death of Edward II in 1327.
