Death at Epsom Downs

It's time for the Derby at Epsom Downs, and Lord Charles Sheridan and his American-born wife, Kate, are on the scene - Charles to take photographs, Kate to gather information for her latest novel. The race becomes life-and-death when one of the jockeys doesn't make it to the finish line... and race officials suspect his horse may have been doped. But the murder of bookie Alfred Day makes it clear that doping isn't the only crime that must be solved. Meanwhile, Kate puzzles over the long-ago theft of an actress's jewels. And soon the Sheridans can't help wondering if these strange events are, somehow, connected.
