Scott Jarvis is currently Associate Professor of Linguistics in the Department of Linguistics at Ohio University, where his main research interests include crosslinguistic influence, cognitive linguistics, and research methods related to the investigation of language proficiency and the measurement of lexical diversity. Dr. Jarvis is currently Associate Editor for the journal Language Learning.Aneta Pavlenko is currently Professor of TESOL in the College of Education, Temple University. Her main research interests include the relationship between language and thought, language and emotions, and language and identity, seen through the lens of bi- and multilingualism and second language learning.
