Contemporary Giddens

Anthony Giddens is a high-profile sociologist. Since becoming director of the London School of Economics in 1997, he has played a leading public role, especially as Prime Minister Tony Blair's "guru". This book opens up for academic and general readers who Giddens is, what he has done in academic life over more than forty years, and how his work on modernity, globalization and transformation of personal life underpins his public and political activities at the beginning of the 21st century.
