This book provides an introduction to the behaviour and design of composite steel-concrete buildings. In a field where continuous research advancement and code developments occur, it covers the latest design methodologies recommended in Eurocodes and Australian standards for composite construction. Design concepts are introduced and derived from fundamental mechanics to outline a clear overview of available guidelines. The basic concepts describing the response of composite slabs, beams and columns are tied to current developments in industry and academia. This underlines the advantages of composite construction and the benefits of using different levels of refinement in modelling composite systems.
