KHALID SEKKAT is Professor of Economics at the University of Brussels, Belgium, and a member of the Royal Academy of Sciences and Technologies in Morocco. He was previously an economic adviser at the European Commission, and he has acted as a consultant to the European Parliament, the European Commission, the World Bank and the OEDC. His interests include industrial organization, international economics and development economics.
