Christian Karner is AssociateProfessor of Sociology at the University of Nottingham, UK. His researchfocuses on local, national and ethnic identity negotiations in the context ofcontemporary globalization. His books include Writing History, ConstructingReligion (co-edited with James Crossley); Ethnicity and EverydayLife; Negotiating National Identities; and The Use and Abuse ofMemory (co-edited with Bram Mertens).Bernhard Weicht is AssistantProfessor of Sociology at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. His researchexamines the construction of care, ageing, dependency, and the intersection ofmigration and care policies and regimes. He is the author of The Meaning ofCare and chair of the European Sociological Association Research Network‘Ageing in Europe’.
