Common-Sense Everyday Carry

How to Choose and Use the EDC Gear You Didn't Know You Needed!

Prepping isnt always about the end of the world. Its about smoothing therough spots in life, whether thats at work, at home, or on the road. A solid Everyday Carry (EDC) plan helps with that.

Jim Cobb's goal inCommon-Sense Everyday Carry isnt to turnpeople into Batman caricatures, loaded down with utility belts and expensive gear of questionable usefulness. Rather, its to help readers make informed, intelligent decisions about whatthey want or need to carry to make their daily lives safer and easier.

In his easy-to-understand approach, Cobb lays out a three-layer system that almost anyone can adapt, taking into account your budget and environment, whether its urban, wilderness or workplace:

Onbody What you routinely keep in your pockets or on your belt.

Offbody What you carry in a backpack, messenger bag, or similar conveyance.

Vehicle What stays in your vehicle to get you back on the road or keep you safe untilhelp arrives.

Each chapter provides a detailed look at a specific category of gear. The author, an experienced gear reviewer, explains how to choose it and how to use it, and then follows up with specific recommendations so you know what brands to trust and which to avoid.
