Beskrivning
A century of movie monsters, reimagined by more than 65 contemporary artists.Horror as we know it began on a rainy night in 1816, when a candlelit writing contest between friends produced Frankenstein. This book follows what happened next, tracing Gothic horror on film from the silent era to the turn of the millennium, with a richly detailed history by genre expert Anthony Taylor.Alongside it, illustrators, cartoonists and painters offer exclusive new takes on the icons, from Frankenstein's monster and Count Dracula to Elvira, Godzilla, King Kong and Freddy Krueger.A striking coffee-table book for horror fans and art lovers alike, and the gift for the friend who starts celebrating Halloween in September.Exclusive artwork from more than 65 contemporary artistsA history of horror cinema from the silent era to the millenniumFrom Frankenstein to Freddy Krueger, Dracula to Godzilla
