Andrew M. Beresford is Professor of Medieval and Renaissance Studies at the University of Durham. He has published widely on Spanish hagiography and devotional literature, including monographs on Thaïs and Pelagia (2007), Agnes (2007), and Agatha and Lucy (2010).Lesley K. Twomey is Professor of Medieval and Golden Age Iberian Art and Literature at the University of Northumbria, Newcastle. She has published on the Immaculate Conception in Castilian and Catalan poetry (2008) and a study of Marian devotion in Isabel de Villena’s Vita Christi (2013). Her new book is on the Virgin as Sacred Space.
