Liu Debin is Kuang Yaming Professor of International Studies and History, and the founder and Dean of the School of International and Public Affairs, Jilin University, China. Jan Nederveen Pieterse is Duncan and Suzanne Mellichamp Professor of Global Studies and Sociology at the University of California, Santa Barbara, USA.
