Paramita Mukherjee is Dean (Academics) and Associate Professor (Economics) at International Management Institute (IMI), Kolkata. She is an alumnus of Presidency College, Kolkata, has completed MS in quantitative economics from the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, and PhD in economics from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. She has more than 18 years of varied experience in industry, research and teaching. She has worked with AC Nielsen (formerly ORG MARG), ICRA and reputed business schools such as IBS, Kolkata, and Institute of Engineering and Management, Kolkata.She teaches courses on economics, statistics, business analytics, financial econometrics, financial institutions and markets and time series analysis. She has conducted management development programmes (MDPs) with Confederation of Industries in India (CII), Kolkata. She also has experience of handling consulting assignments in the power sector. Her research interest lies in applied financial economics and econometrics. She has worked on contemporary issues in the financial sector, for example, foreign institutional investors, mutual funds, stock return volatility, volatility spillover, gold prices and share repurchases. She has authored a number of research papers in international journals such as Asia-Pacific Development Journal, Applied Financial Economics, Emerging Markets Finance and Trade as well as in books and national journals such as India Macroeconomics Annual and Economic and Political Weekly. She has presented papers in several conferences and seminars in India as well as at Katholik University Leuven, Belgium; Borsa Istanbul, Turkey; National Taiwan University; Sichuan Academy of Social Sciences, China and University of Sophia Antipolis, Nice, France. Arnab K. Deb is Assistant Professor at the International Management Institute, Delhi. He holds doctorate in economics from University of Connecticut, Storrs. He earned his BSc (Honours) and MSc degrees from University of Calcutta. His research interest includes applied microeconomics, data envelopment analysis, mathematical economics and applied econometrics.He has around eight years of experience in teaching and research. He has worked on ‘District Level Monitoring of All Programs of Ministry of Rural Development, India’ project, funded by Ministry of Rural Development, and World Bank-sponsored project ‘Moving Out of Poverty: Growth & Democracy’. He has also worked on a National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded project ‘Economic and Social Rights: Obstacle or Handmaiden to Growth?’ Presently, he is working on an Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR)-funded project on evaluating the performance of Indian manufacturing sector. He has attended and presented multiple research papers, both at national and international conferences.He has received multiple fellowships and awards in his career. He has been awarded the ‘Pre-doctoral Fellowship’ and ‘Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship’ by University of Connecticut, USA. She currently works in the Institute of Rural Economy of SASS with her major in forest resource management and has 25 years of expertise in rural policy, resource management and ecological construction. She has completed two National-sponsored projects on ecological compensation and community adaptation on climate change in ecologically-vulnerable regions. She has also completed over 20 provincial and international research projects with governments and many NGOs. She has published over 6 monographs and more than 40 papers in relevant research fields.
