"An excellent resource for Social Work students who are developing their understanding of the core components of the legal framework in relation to children in need. It will also guide them and experienced practitioners in the application of legislation, illustrated effectively with reference to case law and research. Useful tools to develop knowledge and reflective thinking are provided through 'key case analysis' boxes and 'on the spot' questions." - Cathy Pilkington, Senior Lecturer in Social Work, Caertbury Christ Church University.
