'The editors offer what they describe as theri 'milennium baby' not simply to staff and students engaged in the academic study of childhood, but also to those engaged in teacher education. It is a timely gift ... Many of us engaged in teacher education has thus been offered as fresh opportunity to place a holistic approach to the education of children firmly at the centre of the process of schooling and teacher education ... This text is a useful support in this aspiration.' - Val Friel, Journal of Moral Education, Volume 31, No. 2, 2002
