Dr Sheanna Maine is apediatric orthopedic surgeon who, until the birth of her son, could not recallreading anything other than anatomy textbooks and orthopedic journal articles.While she has written numerous research papers and a couple of book chapters onknees, this is her first foray into the world of the child, a world she nowappreciates and cherishes as much as her son loves pretending to be Spider-Man.Sheanna wrote this book in order to help parents explain the process of fixinga broken bone so that children (and parents) can be less intimidated by theexperience!Maia Batumashvili was bornin Tiblisi, Georgia in 1978. Since a young age, Maia has loved to draw and isinspired by the children's books and cartoons she grew up with. Aftergraduating from two art institutes, Maia worked on an animation project beforefinally realising her dream of illustrating children's books. When Maia is notcreating imaginative worlds, she enjoys spending time with her three beautifulchildren and her dog, Tayo.
