Dr Liu Zhi-Qiang has been working for more than 20 years in industrialization of biomanufacturing. Dr Zhi-Qiang’s expertise lies in conducting cutting-edge research and technological advancements across the entire innovation chain, encompassing the discovery and design of functional proteins, the editing and reconstruction of artificial cells, and the control and integrated amplification of biotransformation processes. With a focus on optimizing enzymes for non-natural environments and unraveling the intricate regulation and coordination mechanisms of metabolic pathways, the applicant has made remarkable contributions to the field. They have successfully led numerous research projects, including the prestigious Zhejiang Provincial Key Research and Development Plan, and have published more than 100 articles in top-tier international journals. Their innovative work has resulted more than 70 authorized Chinese invention patents, 45 implementation of patented technologies in various enterprises, and the establishment of over 10 industrial production lines.
