Selected for CBC's Summer Showcase 2024: Imagination Celebration"Bustling Cities of the World is an oversized book that celebrates the world's major and busiest cities, from Cairo to London and Sydney to Vancouver. Introductions to each capture a sense of place and environment ("It's raining again-no surprise to Londoners. Nobody leaves home without a hat, cap, or umbrella-just look at Sherlock Holmes, a palace guard, even the Queen!"). Each city receives a two-page spread packed with illustrations of its major attributes, from foods and historical buildings to local districts, bridges, markets, and more. The result is a lively leisure read that holds educational attraction, as well." —Midwest Book Review"It would be fun to encourage kids to make their own gallery of images that define their home city or state." —Flying Off My Bookshelf"The illustrations in the book are to die for! Each two-page spread features dozens of illustrations, ranging from architecture to food to famous residents. Kids will have fun searching through all the small details." —SmeeWHPL, Librarian"There is so much to discover in this book covering some of the largest and best-known cities around the globe. The illustration style is fresh and vibrant and captures the attention quickly. It has a very "travel sketchbook" feel to it which I absolutely loved." —NetGalley-Educator"This is a lovely book; the illustrations are beautiful and they will entice any family to pick it up and read it to and with their children. I like the very full pages, almost like a seek and find book, they seem to bustle just like the title of the book!" —NetGalley-Librarian
