Ellie Jackson, a mother of four, created the Wild Tribe Heroes series to educate children about global environmental issues. Living by the sea in Looe, Cornwall, Ellie was inspired to write her first book after spending time on Magnetic Island in the Great Barrier Reef, Australia. There, she and her young family witnessed a turtle named Duffy being released back into the ocean after a year of treatment for ingesting plastic.Ellie recalls, "My children and I were transfixed by the sight of this beautiful creature being set free, and subsequently visited a turtle hospital on the mainland to find out more. Once my children made the connection between plastics and turtles, they became obsessed with clearing litter from beaches to help protect turtles and other sea life."As an environmental scientist and former geography teacher, Ellie saw the potential of children's books to convey important messages about the threats facing our planet. This passion for educating young people about environmental conservation led to the creation of her impactful book series. Ellie Jackson is now a highly acclaimed and successful author with a career spanning over seven years. She has personally read her books to more than 35,000 children in schools, earning a stellar reputation for crafting true stories that engage and inspire young readers.
