ENGDon J. Wyatt is the John M. McCardell, Jr. Distinguished Professor at Middlebury College, where he has taught both history and philosophy for nearly four decades. With interests in East Asia broadly, he focuses foremost geo-culturally on China, about which he researches and publishes on topics of premodern Chinese thought and intellectualism, matters of warfare and violence, and questions of ethnicity and slavery.
