Dr. Martínez-Roldán is "Investigador por México" at CONAHCYT- TecNM / IT Durango and has 15 years of experience in microalgal biotechnology. His research interests are focused on microalgal-based bio-refinery, native strains isolation, and characterization, construction of photobioreactors, and wastewater treatment by microalgae and cyanobacteria cultures.
