Jeffrey Weeks was born in the Rhondda in1945. He moved to London in the 1970s andbegan a long career as a researcher and writeron sexuality, with widespread national andinternational recognition. He has been describedas the 'most significant British intellectualworking on sexuality to emerge from theradical sexual movements of the 1970s'. Heheld a number of senior university posts andis currently Emeritus Professor of Sociology atLondon South Bank University. He is the author,co-author or editor of some twenty-five booksand numerous articles. He lives in London withhis civil partner, Mark McNestry.
