Alison Jones is Professor of Law at King's College London and a solicitor at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP. She teaches and researches principally in the field of competition law. Alison is the co-author of a core OUP text on EU Competition Law, Jones and Sufrin's EU Competition Law: Text, Cases, and Materials (OUP, 8th ed, 2023), author of a monograph on Restitution and European Community Law (LLP, 2000), a co-author of Combatting Corruption and Collusion in Public Procurement: A Challenge for Governments Worldwide (OUP, 2024) and has published in leading academic and specialist competition journals and a number of edited collections.James Aitken leads Freshfields' London antitrust, competition and trade group. He has extensive experience in both contentious and non-contentious antitrust and regulatory matters, particularly article 101/102 investigations and merger control. James appears regularly before the European Commission, the UK Competition Markets Authority and Competition Appeals Tribunal, and other agencies worldwide. He has particular expertise in financial services, technology and media, antitrust and patent law, and regulation of utilities under EU and UK law.
