Beskrivning
Bacterial Dynamics in Environmental Engineering: From Microbial Ecology to Sustainable Biotechnologies addresses the critical role of bacteria in environmental microbiology and engineering. This reference fills a research gap by focusing on bacterial ecology within engineered systems and their applications in sustainability, bioremediation, and climate change mitigation. The book begins with foundational coverage such as bacterial phylogeny, bacterial metabolism, stress adaptations, and their ecological interactions with other organisms and the environment. It also explores advanced technologies such as metabolic engineering and metabolomics and cutting-edge insights into microbial population modeling, adaptive mechanisms, and bioremediation strategies. Practical examples illustrate applications in areas such as wastewater treatment, greenhouse gas mitigation, biofuel production, and circular economy frameworks. Bacterial Dynamics in Environmental Engineering: From Microbial Ecology to Sustainable Biotechnologies explains how microbial communities respond to and influence environmental processes, pollutant degradation, and ecosystem health. The book benefits researchers, academics, and professionals by bridging fundamental microbial ecology with applied environmental engineering and offers them a useful resource that supports innovation in environmental microbial biotechnology and fosters new approaches to sustainable development.

  • Offers fundamental coverage focusing on bacteriology and the bacterial roles in diverse ecosystems
  • Discusses the interaction between bacteria and pollutants and the mechanisms bacteria use to survive and adapt in fluctuating environments
  • Examines bacterial dynamics in environmental systems, linking microbial ecology to sustainable engineering solutions and biotechnological innovations
  • Explores recent advancements in bacteriology and microbial technologies from sustainability and circular economy perspectives
