Aviation in Northern California 1910-1939

Historian Allen Herr’s historical aviation stories document fearless risk takers in Northern California with lively biographies of the pioneer aviators, stories of barnstormers, commercial flying, local airplane builders, massive turnouts at airshows, and airfield development from 1910 to 1939. Author Herr devoted years of research to his narrative including 94 illustrations, some published for the first time. Originally published in 2015 as Golden Wings over the Feather River (ISBN 978-1-935807-14-8), this edition includes added information and more illustrations. Golden Wings is complemented by two other titles of early Northern California aviation history written by private pilot Herr: Wooden Wings over the Golden Gate, Early Aviation in the San Francisco Bay Area 1910-1939 and Ragwings over the Sacramento River, Early Aviation in Sacramento County, the westside counties, and the far northern counties of the Sacramento Valley 1909-1939.
