Dr. Valentin Leeb studied Theoretical Physics in Munich and graduated in 2025 with a dissertation entitled “Anomalous Quantum Oscillations beyond Onsager’s Fermi Surface Paradigm” at the Technical University of Munich. He is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Zurich. Dr. Leeb’s research focuses on the theoretical description of strongly correlated quantum phases of matter, particularly in the presence of magnetic fields, as well as on quantum magnetism. His work includes publications on novel theoretical frameworks for quantum oscillations, predictions of experimental signatures of quantum spin liquids, and new approaches to unconventional magnets. Besides his academic activities, Dr. Leeb is an amateur endurance athlete and mountaineer who is actively engaged in volunteer work. Among other roles, he has served as an athletic coach for children and as a manager of a youth group in the German Alpine Association.
