The time continuum is home to two great powers: the Timeguard and the enigmatic People of the Horizon. The chase takes them from Gilded Age New York to steampunk future Mexico, tangling on the way with cultists, Jacobites, plant-hunters, inconvenient proposals, and a librarian who is not to be messed with.
