"There are many books on church history that survey the most influential Christian thinkers and their impact on the Christian world. Few, if any, are written distinctly for evangelicals or with the level of intentionality that De Chirico has accomplished here. Ancient Landmarks escorts readers through the most pivotal points in the history of the church through the theology of its most robust theologians while consistently measuring each against the teaching of Scripture and Reformed theology. This is the first book I have read that endeavors to encourage evangelicals to read and love the church fathers but also demonstrates how it can be done without sacrificing their Protestant convictions. It is an essential primer for all students, pastors and laypeople who desire a grounded connection with their Christian past."
