The Hellenistic Ptolemaic dynasty (322–30 BC) used Alexandria to showcase its rule. This book explores how the kings and queens presented themselves through architecture, festivals, processions, imagery and religious symbolism, and the political messages and ideals of rulership they conveyed. The focus is on the interactions between Greek and Egyptian traditions.
