Aeschylus

Violence and power are fundamental ideas to Aeschylean poetry.  This work is an original examination of particular ways in which Aeschylus inculcates into his tragedies expressions of the exercise of power and the purveying of violence.  The seven contributions in this volume are the work of a team of distinguished scholars who approach the topic from a variety of theoretic orientations, utilizing both synchronic and diachronic perspectives.
