Maria Atlan, a former Military Officer, is a writer of poetry, short stories, and all things conservation related - from academic articles to children's literature. She is a lover of travel and adventure, both which have served to strengthen her desire to protect our planet and share that need with others. When she is not abroad working with conservation projects, Maria can be found at home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with her much beloved menagerie of animals.
