Beskrivning
Advances in Gear Design and Manufacture, Second Edition, explores gears, gear transmissions, and advanced methods of gear production, focusing on the latest discoveries and accomplishments in the field. The second edition introduces several new chapters, including groundbreaking insights into sinusoidal spur gears, the “equivalent pulley-and-belt drive” for parallel-axis gearing, and advanced modeling of gear manufacturing processes. Additionally, key chapters have been revised to reflect the latest advancements in the field, while others have been removed to streamline the content. Written by international experts, the chapters align with the modern scientific theory of gearing, providing a detailed exploration of how perfect gears and gear transmissions can be designed, produced, and optimized for high performance. Topics include achieving high “power-to-weight” ratios, designing compact, high-capacity gearboxes, and understanding the kinematics and geometry of gear systems.Ideal for mechanical engineers, gear designers, manufacturing specialists, and researchers, this book is an essential resource for those seeking to deepen their understanding of advanced gear technologies and their applications.

Mer information

Stephen P. Radzevich is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering, and a Professor of Manufacturing Engineering affiliated with Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in Ukraine, now retired. He received his M.Sc. in 1976, Ph.D. in 1982, and Dr.(Eng)Sc. in 1991, all in mechanical engineering. Dr. Radzevich has extensive industrial experience in gear design and gear manufacture, and has developed numerous software packages dealing with computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided machining (CAM) of precise gear finishing for a variety of industrial sponsors. His main research interest is the field of Kinematics and Geometry of Gearing, particularly with a focus on precision gear design, high-power-density gear trains, torque share in split-power-transmission systems (SPTS), design of special purpose gear cutting/finishing tools, and design and machine (finish) of precision gears for low-noise and noiseless transmissions of automotives. Amongst his book publications are Advances in Gear and Design Manufacture, Dudley's Handbook of Practical Gear Design and Manufacture, Fourth Edition, and Theory of Gearing, Fourth Edition.
