Chandra Shekhar is a distinguished Professor and former Head of the Department of Mathematics at BITS Pilani, India. His research interests span queueing theory, computer and communication systems, machine repair problems, reliability and maintainability, stochastic processes, evolutionary computation, statistical analysis, and fuzzy set and logic. Professionally, he actively participates in academic events, presenting papers and delivering invited talks at national and international conferences and Faculty Development Programs (FDPs). He has organized multiple conferences, workshops, and symposiums and received recognition with the best research paper award at an international conference. He has authored over 50 research articles in prestigious journals, supervised three Ph.D. theses, and contributed to book chapters and textbooks. He serves as a member of editorial boards, a reviewer for reputable journals, and participates in various academic committees. He has professional experience working with esteemed organizations, including IIRS (ISRO), CSIR-IIP, NIH, WIHG, CPWD, NTPC, Bank of Maharashtra, and APS Lifetech. Presently, Kumar has been working as an Assistant Professor (Research) with the Medical Statistics Team since September 2020. Here he is involved with the teaching and evaluation of Applied Statistics courses as well as different research projects. Broadly, Kumar's research, consultancy, and teaching focus in the areas of applied statistics, predication modelling, linear and non-linear regression, survival theories, meta-analysis, and cohort study involving high-dimensional datasets. Apart from this, Kumar also works for National Health and Care Excellence (NICE), UK as an expert reviewer. He is also a Fellow of prestigious Royal Statistical Society (FRSS), London. Before joining the University of Aberdeen, Kumar worked as a Research Officer with Indo-Dutch Cohort study at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India for three years. The focus of the AIIMS Cohort Study - ‘A Population Based Prospective Cohort Study to Unravel the Causes of Stroke and Cognitive Decline: A Cross-Cultural Perspective’, was on investigating factors underlying stroke and dementia. Amit Kumar is an Assistant Professor at the University Institute of Science, Chandigarh University, India. He holds a Ph.D. from BITS Pilani, Rajasthan. He earned his M.Sc. in Mathematics from CCS University, Meerut, and an M.A. in Statistics from U.P. Rajarshi Tandon Open University, Prayagraj. His research interests encompass a wide range of areas, including queueing theory, machine repair problems, optimal control, reliability and maintainability, stochastic modeling, evolutionary computation, statistical analysis, and fuzzy set and logic. He has a substantial publication record, with numerous research articles featured in reputable journals. He actively engages in academic events such as conferences, Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), workshops, and symposiums, where he serves as both a presenter and an invited speaker. Additionally, he contributes to the scholarly community as a reviewer for several prestigious journals. Furthermore, he has gained professional experience through his work with the irrigation department in Roorkee, India. Dr. B. Krishna Kumar is currently working as a Professor in the Division of Mathematics, School of Advance Sciences. Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai, India. He was working as a professor of Mathematics in Anna University, Chennai, India, during 1995 - 2021. He received his M.Sc., and M.Phil., degrees from the University of Madras in 1984 and 1985, respectively. Subsequently, he obtained his Ph.D. degree from I.I.T Madras, Chennai, India in 1991. He was in NTT Multimedia Network Lab, Tokyo, Japan, as a Post-Doctoral Fellow during 1993 −1994. He has published more than 86 research papers in the reputed International Journals and Conference Proceedings. He has served as General and Technical Program Chair of numerous international conferences. He is editorial board member of the following international journals: Journal of Queueing Models and Service Management and Methodology, Computing in Applied Probability and Journal of Modern Intelligent Times. His research interests include Queueing Models in Communication Systems, Branching Processes, and their applications, First Passage Time Problems, and Mathematical Ecology.
